The census numbers released this month makes me wonder, will people or govt do anything to control it? Population control does not mean extermination of people!
1 man+1 woman = 1 kid for next generation will make the population half after 80 years which is still huge number for the land we have. It is simple math, and China is on track towards controlling its population. Some startling facts:
1. India+China = 35% of world population
2. 1/10th of just Uttar Pradesh's population lives in whole of Australia which has double the land space of India.
3. The most significant addition after 1947: 85 crores of additional population
4. Population added in just 10 year span of 2001-2011: 20 crores which is greater than total population of Brazil today.
No matter how many Anna Hazares fast nor how many Gandhis are re-born, simple straight forward, bitter, unfortunate truth: over-population is the cause for every single problem the country is facing. Unfortunate our grandfathers overdid it and this generation has to compensate for it. Resources like land, water etc are limited and exponential increase of population will only make life cramped, never better.
Please share this info and spread the awareness among your friends if you feel responsible of spreading the awareness. Govt. is not even close to thinking about one-child policy let alone implementing it! At least people should realize this truth and I am trying to do my part in spreading the awareness.
Educated people nowadays at least limit to 2, but country like India needs one-child policy at least for a while to control the exponential increase. Look at the below article:

This article says a lady had 29 kids, unless the govt implements a policy, how do millions of people like her in villages with similar attitude understand that they are just being detrimental to country's progress?
